Introduction
The Kansas Better Housing Consortium kicked off its first open meeting with a warm welcome and lunch at noon. Attendees had the opportunity to network and share their enthusiasm for the consortium’s mission before diving into the day’s agenda. In attendance were diverse stakeholders invited by APDesign faculty and their extended networks.
Common Narrative & Organizational Identity
The meeting began with a discussion on the consortium’s common narrative, emphasizing the importance of a unified story in achieving their goals. This segment included an introduction to the organization’s identity, highlighting the mission and goals aimed at improving housing conditions across Kansas and beyond.
Past Projects Survey
At 12:20 PM, the focus shifted to a survey of past projects. This retrospective allowed members to reflect on successes and challenges, providing a foundation for future initiatives. It was an engaging session where various stakeholders shared insights and learned from each other’s experiences. As a result, the group collaboratively organized these experiences by using the consortium proposed “tagging” system. These tags will be used to efficiently communicate the nature of the projects shared with the community at-large, including those projects developed by affiliated members and highlighted on our website.
