The Better Housing Consortium (BHC) is thrilled to announce our participation in the upcoming Kansas Housing Conference in August at the Overland Park Convention Center!

We invite you to join us at our exhibitors’ table, where you can learn more about our latest projects and discover exciting opportunities to collaborate with us.
In addition, you can help us visualize and expand our understanding of the housing ecosystem in Kansas. We would love to see where your work fits into this vital puzzle!
In addition to our booth, we are proud to have our very own BHC member, Associate Professor Michael Gibson, presenting alongside his esteemed colleagues, Donna Schenck-Hamlin and Josh Brewer.
Their presentation, titled “What’s in a Type? The Role of Housing Types in Better Homes and Neighborhoods,” will delve into the critical role that medium-density housing plays in addressing the housing crisis, particularly in Kansas.
In response to the 2021 Kansas Statewide Housing Assessment, which identified a stark polarization in home development trends, Michael and his team will explore how medium-density housing can significantly reduce construction costs while supporting net-zero development, community decarbonization, and neighborhood place-making. This approach challenges the current status quo and offers innovative solutions for achieving affordable and sustainable housing in Kansas.
Mark your calendars for this insightful presentation on Wednesday, August 21st, at 9:00 AM. It promises to enlighten anyone interested in the future of housing development.
Don’t miss the chance to engage with us at the conference!
